Hebei Yidian successfully developed the third generation of fire-resistant composite epoxy resin bridge

Filling the gap in domestic special environment application technology, the first order was settled in Southeast Asia’s million-kilowatt photovoltaic project
May 20, 2025, Hengshui Today, Hebei Yidian Import and Export Trading Co., Ltd. held a new product launch conference at its Hengshui production base, announcing that the third-generation fireproof composite epoxy resin cable tray, which has undergone 18 months of technical research, has officially achieved large-scale mass production. Through the dual innovation of material formulation and structural design, the product has been authoritatively tested by the National Fireproof Building Materials Quality Supervision and Inspection Center (CNACL), and the fire resistance limit reaches 120 minutes, which is 40% higher than the performance of traditional fireproof cable trays. At the same time, it meets the IP68 waterproof standard and can operate continuously for 24 hours in a water depth of 1 meter, marking a technological breakthrough in my country’s field of cable trays for high temperature, high humidity and complex environments.
Core technology breakthroughs set new industry performance benchmarks
As a national high-tech enterprise, Yidian launched the third-generation fireproof bridge, which integrates three core innovative technologies:
Nanocomposite flame retardant system
The magnesium hydroxide flame retardant filler with a particle size of ≤50nm is evenly dispersed in the epoxy resin matrix through surface modification technology. When it encounters a high temperature above 300℃, it triggers an endothermic decomposition reaction, releases crystal water to reduce the temperature of the matrix, and forms a dense carbonized layer to block the heat conduction path. Compared with traditional halogen flame retardant materials, the heat release rate is reduced by 65%, and the smoke density rating (SDR) is ≤50, which complies with the EU RoHS environmental protection directive. ​
3D orthogonal reinforcement structure​
The innovative application of glass fiber three-dimensional orthogonal woven grid as a reinforcement layer, and the optimization of the interlayer angle to 45°/90°/135° composite structure through finite element analysis, increases the axial bending strength of the bridge frame to 280MPa, and can withstand a uniformly distributed load of 3.2 tons/square meter without deformation, far exceeding the requirements of GB/T 19666-2019 “General Rules for Flame Retardant and Fire Resistant Cables or Optical Cables”. ​
Full environmental adaptability coating system
The surface is coated with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) nano-coating, and the weight loss rate after 1000 hours of salt spray test (NSS) is less than 0.08%, and the tensile strength retention rate after 2000 hours of ultraviolet accelerated aging test (QUV) is ≥92%, achieving stable performance in the temperature range of -50℃ to 120℃, especially suitable for harsh scenarios such as new energy vehicle charging piles, hot and cold channels in data centers, and photovoltaic power station confluence areas. ​
Global layout is recognized by high-end market again​
The press conference revealed that the product has received the first batch of orders for a million-kilowatt photovoltaic power station project in Southeast Asia, and will be used for laying cables for photovoltaic arrays in the rainy equatorial region. The third-party test commissioned by the project owner and conducted by German TÜV SÜD showed that the bridge rack operated continuously for 500 hours at a high temperature of 85°C and a relative humidity of 95%, and the fireproof layer did not crack and the waterproof sealing performance did not decay. All technical indicators were better than the IEC 61537:2014 “Conduit System for Cable Management” standard requirements. ​
“This technological breakthrough is the result of Yidian’s insistence on the deep integration of ‘production, learning, research and application’,” said Zhang Gong, the company’s technical director. “We have simultaneously developed derivative products such as the Arctic Circle frost heave resistance type and the Middle East high temperature resistance type. The supporting intelligent production line has a monthly production capacity of 8,000 linear meters, which can quickly respond to the customized needs of the global high-end market.”​
Assisting in achieving the “dual carbon” goal and improving the matrix of specialty products​
As one of the few companies in China that has the ability to develop a full range of fireproof cable trays, Yidian’s new product launch marks a strategic upgrade of its product system from conventional to “special environment solutions”. This product not only meets the fire resistance integrity requirements of GB 23864-2009 “Fireproof Sealing Materials”, but also improves installation efficiency by 30% through structural optimization, significantly reducing the full life cycle cost of new energy infrastructure projects. ​
As global clean energy investment accelerates under the impetus of the “dual carbon” goal, cable trays, as key carriers of power transmission, continue to see growing demand for reliability in complex environments such as high temperature, high humidity, and high corrosion. Hebei Yidian’s technological breakthrough not only provides domestic alternatives for major projects such as offshore wind power and desert photovoltaics in my country, but also helps infrastructure construction in countries along the “Belt and Road” with technology exports. It is expected that the revenue share of special cable tray products will increase to 40% in the next three years. ​
